We believe today’s youth are the future of agriculture. That’s why we help fund Texas students’ college educations through our scholarship program.
Every year, Plains Land Bank awards scholarships to bright young students who are aspiring producers or who want to pursue a career in some facet of the agriculture industry.
We believe that the agricultural industry’s next leaders are right here in the Texas Panhandle and South Plains. To match their hard work and determination, we make a solid financial investment in their futures by awarding four $2,000 scholarships every year.
To be eligible for a Plains Land Bank scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a graduating high school senior
- Pursuing a degree related to agriculture
- Students interested in applying must live in one of the counties we serve:
Armstrong, Briscoe, Carson, Floyd, Gray, Hale, Hall, Hansford, Hutchinson, Lipscomb, Motley, Ochiltree, Oldham, Potter, Randall, Roberts
Here’s how it works:
Four deserving high school seniors in the Texas Panhandle will each receive a $2,000 agriculture scholarship to use toward their future educational goals.
The ag scholarships awarded through this program will be issued under several conditions:
- Your financial assistance from us is contingent upon graduation and acceptance into a secondary educational institution.
- Family members (children & grandchildren) of Plains Land Bank employees and board members are not eligible.
- If the recipient does not attend college during the term the scholarship is awarded for, our contribution will become null and void.
How Do I Get an Agriculture Scholarship?
Plains Land Bank cares about academic achievement, but we also want to learn more about your interests. The first step toward receiving one of our agriculture scholarships is to fill out the application provided at the top of the page. Your application needs to include your official high school transcript with a high-resolution electronic photo and we also want to know about extracurricular activities you have participated in. Ever volunteered your time or won an award? We’d love to hear about it.
All of our applicants will have their academic performance, achievements and service reviewed for consideration. We also ask that you submit an essay. When you pursue a career in agriculture, you join an industry that is thriving. Hard-working individuals give their best every day to contribute in the field. We want to know how you see yourself fitting into that picture and what experiences shaped your passion for agriculture.
Applicants will submit an essay that answers a question regarding the agriculture industry.
Essays and application materials must be returned completely to hward@plainslandbank.com.
