Through scholarships and a hands- on summer internship, we provide real-world experience and meaningful support to students passionate about agriculture. Whether itās financial assistance or professional mentorship, weāre investing in the people who will take the reins of agriculture across Texas.

Each year, Plains Land Bank awards five $2,000 scholarships to high school seniors pursuing a degree in agriculture. Itās our way of recognizing the passion, potential, and commitment of students who are ready to build their future in the ag industry.
These scholarships are an investment in the next generation of producers, agribusiness professionals, and community leaders. Eligible applicants must live in one of the counties we serve and submit a short application, transcript, and an essay. Selected recipients are announced each spring.

Learning By Doing-Summer Internship
Our summer internship is a 12-week, hands-on learning experience designed for students who want to grow their careers in agriculture and rural finance. Interns work alongside leaders across departments, gaining insight into our lending process, customer service, and day-to-day operations.
This internship oļ¬ers more than just exposureāitās a chance to develop professional skills, build lasting relationships, and explore what a future in ag finance can look like. Interns take on meaningful projects, set personal goals, and leave with a stronger sense of purpose and direction.

Mason Bogan
Bushland, TX
Mason grew up between Colorado and Texas, finding his calling early in the cattle industry. Whether riding in combines, showing lambs, or helping run his family’s steer operation, agriculture has always been in his blood. A recent graduate of Bushland High School, Mason is pursuing a degree in Agribusiness at West Texas A&M University with plans to manage a feedlot and one day own his own cattle operation.
Sydni Chessir
Floydada, TX
Sydni grew up immersed in agriculture, spending over a decade raising and showing market lambsāand more recently, goats. A graduate of Floydada Collegiate High School, she is now attending West Texas A&M University, where she is majoring in Animal Science with a PreVeterinary focus.
Gracie Braman
Amarillo, TX
Gracie grew up learning the value of hard work alongside her grandfather on the family ranch-feeding cattle, working livestock, and building a lifelong love for the land. A graduate of Canyon High School, she’s attending Clarendon College, majoring in Agricultural Business and Ranch and Feedlot
Operations.
Brooks Myers
Claude, TX
Brooks grew up in Claude, Texas, and spent his childhood riding alongside his dad to check cows on their family ranch. He attributes his hard work ethic and determination to his time in the ag industry.
Recently, he graduated as Valedictorian of Claude High School and is attending Texas Tech University this fall, majoring in Animal Science.
