Getting started in agriculture has never been easy. From building credit and investing in land to gaining hands-on experience, the barriers can feel high for those just starting out.
We’re here to help the next generation overcome those barriers by offering loan programs and local guidance to Young, Beginning, and Small (YBS) farmers across the Texas Panhandle.
Our YBS Advisory Committee plays a vital role in that mission. Their firsthand experience helps shape our programs, so future producers have the financial tools and community support they need to grow.
No one understands the challenges of starting out in agriculture better than farmers and ranchers themselves. That’s why we formed a YBS Advisory Committee made up of stockholders like you. They bring their backgrounds and experiences together to help guide our lending efforts and ensure our programs remain relevant, practical, and supportive.
The YBS Advisory Committee also keeps us connected to what young, beginning, and small producers are really facing. Their input ensures our programs address real needs, so new producers can succeed.

Each member of the YBS Advisory Committee understands the hard work and planning it takes to get started in agriculture. Their advice for new producers is simple but powerful:
It’s never too early to start planning your finances. Creating a clear budget and understanding your credit can help secure long-term stability.
One of the best steps you can take is seeking out mentors and connections in agriculture. Experienced producers can share guidance and support that’s hard to find on your own.
Take advantage of other programs that support new farmers. USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) offers resources such as loans, grants, disaster assistance, and conservation programs.
Above all, they encourage YBS producers to keep me X Text Block nd grit, but you’re not alone in this journey.
Every operation looks different, which is why we offer three YBS loan programs to meet you where you are.
Whether you’re planting your first crop, growing your herd, or expanding your family’s legacy, we’re here to help.
